80% Subsidy on Agricultural Drones Rolled Out by Andhra Pradesh Government!

The Andhra Pradesh government has begun providing agricultural drones to farmer groups at an 80% subsidy as part of a large-scale effort to modernize agriculture and reduce the workload for growers. Agriculture Minister K Atchannaidu officially introduced the program on Monday at his camp office in Nimmada.

Before being given to farmers in Nandigam mandal’s Narendrapuram village, the drone’s operation was thoroughly examined during the launch. The action is being marketed as a major step in the direction of integrating cutting-edge technologies into agriculture.

Drone technology is being promoted as a replacement for conventional manual farming techniques. According to the explanation, a drone can apply pesticides over an acre of land in seven minutes as opposed to almost two hours when done by hand. It is anticipated that this increased efficiency will result in a significant reduction in labor costs and operating time.

Farmers were urged to adopt new equipment and methods. Drone applications are being emphasized not only for their speed but also for their capacity to enhance crop health, enhance pest monitoring, and result in increased yields through precision farming.

During the event, a brochure was distributed that included comprehensive details about the initiative and the advantages of using drones in agriculture. The initiative is in line with the Central government’s “Namo Drone Didi” program, which aims to encourage the use of drones in agriculture, especially through drone centers run by women.

Drones are being provided to qualified farmer groups and producer organizations under this program, with the government covering 80% of the cost. The beneficiaries are paying the remaining amount, guaranteeing greater affordability and accessibility.

The Andhra Pradesh government is strengthening its dedication to smart agriculture and coordinating with the national objective of boosting the adoption of technology in rural areas by launching this program.
