Security Tightened: Rajgir Becomes Drone-Free Zone Ahead of Governor’s Arrival

Ahead of Governor Arif Mohammed Khan’s visit to the World Peace Pagoda’s 56th anniversary celebrations on Saturday, the Nalanda district administration has declared the entire Rajgir town to be a drone-free zone.

Under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code, 2023, District Magistrate Kundan Kumar issued the order, which will be in effect from 9 a.m. on October 24 to 7 p.m. on October 25. All drone and UAV operations are strictly forbidden within Rajgir’s boundaries during this period.

Rajgir Classified as Red Zone

The area has been designated as a “Red Zone” under the Drone Rules, 2021, which impose a total prohibition on unmanned aerial systems (UAS). However, drone operations may be permitted for official or special purposes only with prior authorization from the competent authority and due notification to the District Magistrate.

Strict Enforcement Measures

The administration has warned that violators will face legal action under Section 223 of the Indian Justice Code, 2023. The Superintendent of Police, Nalanda, has been assigned the responsibility of ensuring strict enforcement of the order, which has also been circulated among the Rajgir Subdivisional Officer, SDPO, and SHO.

Security Measures During Governor’s Visit

The temporary no-fly order has been issued to maintain security during the Governor’s visit and in anticipation of the large public turnout expected at the World Peace Pagoda anniversary event.
