Drone Manufacturing Hub Inaugurated in Noida to Boost India’s Defence

An important step forward for India’s domestic defence capabilities was made on Saturday when Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath opened the Raphe mPhibr Drone Manufacturing Unit and Defence Equipment and Engine Test Facility in Sector-81, Noida.

CM Yogi Adityanath, who spoke at the event, called the construction of cutting-edge facilities for drones, aircraft engines, and aerospace testing a historic accomplishment for India’s defense readiness in the face of changing international threats.

Since 1947, India has faced difficulties, and Operation Sindoor has shown the country’s strength in this new phase of conflict. The world yields to you if you possess strength. Peace reigns when Sastra (weapons) and Shastra (epics) work together, he stated.

He highlighted Uttar Pradesh’s expanding contribution to the national defense, citing the state’s nine operational ordnance factories and the 12,500 acres set aside for the Defence Corridor, which will span the cities of Agra, Aligarh, Jhansi, Chitrakoot, and Kanpur. Additionally, he emphasized the accomplishments of the BrahMos missile unit in Lucknow, which demonstrated its capabilities during Operation Sindoor.

CM Yogi congratulated the new facility and reaffirmed the state government’s support for defense manufacturing and dedication to national security.

The new facility was heralded by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh as a turning point in India’s history of scientific and defence innovation.

The facility, which reflects the rapid advancement of domestic innovation in recent years, is being positioned as a breakthrough in India’s defense technology landscape. Its parent company, which started out with just ten employees in 2017, has since grown to employ more than 3,600 scientists and engineers.

The facility has been hailed as one of India’s most inventive aircraft manufacturing hubs, and drones built there are rumored to have stealth characteristics that allow them to evade even the most sophisticated defense systems in China and the US. This innovation is being positioned as a technological advantage intended to deter enemies.

Singh emphasized Uttar Pradesh’s transformation, saying that under CM Yogi’s leadership, the state—once thought to be challenging for industrial investment due to its lax law and order—is now a sought-after location for investors.

Singh also emphasized the increasing role of drones in international conflicts, pointing to the war between Russia and Ukraine as an example. He recalled the 1998 nuclear tests at Pokhran and claimed that despite international opposition, India has always progressed.

He added that in just 14 months, the company and DRDO had successfully deployed equipment they had jointly developed for Operation Sindoor, showcasing the combination of science, innovation, and the bravery of India’s military.
